Mike Knott’s Rubber Band was an early Knott band. It was formed at least as early as 1979, and lasted until at least 1981. Knott and Salmon were 15 when the band formed. It probably existed in conjunction with their other band The One. Mike Knott’s Rubber Band would play shows at the KooKoo Lounge, as well as practice in Salmon’s father’s shop. They also played played an MD warehouse graduation party in 1981. There are rumors that demos and live recordings exist of this band.
