Before they did the popular City on a Hill series, Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong (of The Choir) made a few similar, but less popular, worship concept records. At the Foot of the Cross Volume 1: Clouds, Rain, Fire was the first of these, and it contained Knott on vocals for one track.
In 2021, Daugherty and Hindalong completed a successful KickStarter to re-release this album on CD and vinyl. The re-issue began shipping in July of 2021.
