The Livesavors – HDV Tapes

At some point in the 1980s, an ad with a long catalog of tapes from HDV Records (Heath Dog Violet Records) began appearing in underground magazines. These were all tapes from various Mark Krischak project. Interested parties would send in the money for what they wanted, and Krischak would send them back dubbed tapes with as many projects crammed on to each tape that he could. Some of those tapes were Lifesavors releases, demos, and bootlegs. What is known about those specific tapes is included below. If you can provide any details or copies of the missing ones below (tapes 15, 17, 19, and 20), please contact me.

Tape 18: The Lifesavors Acoustic

An acoustic bootleg of unknown origin. Mark Krischak is heard on vocals, but he is discussing things with other people in the band. It is unknown who else is in the band at this time. It features a few songs not released elsewhere (“How Many Tear Drops,” “Keep Your Eyes,” and “Waiting”). Krischak also uses different titles for some of the 3-14-81 Live songs (“On the Street” is called “Boys Been Saved” and “I’ve Got To” is called “To You”), so it is possible that this recording pre-dates that demo as those could be earlier names for those tracks.
