Lifesavors Rare You and Me Single Online!

No news on new recordings yet – there are many rumblings on MySpace and other places that seem to indicate that all projects, especially the new L.S.Underground, are moving forward and we might hear some official news soon. But for collectors – here is a real treat. In 1982, a rare 45″ record was released containing two new Lifesavors tracks – “You and Me” and “The One.” “The One” was re-recorded for Dream Life. The rumor was that this single was when Knott took over The Lifesavors and was his song-writing debut. But this single is so rare, very little is known. Well, magically – it appeared for download. The recording is not the incredible quality, but it is decent and seems to come from a good quality record. See the related link to download for free. And a big thanks to whoever this person is that ripped this and posted it! Now, if we can just get high-res scans of the covers and record itself.

New Section: The Gallery

Up until this week, Knottheads on H was hosted by a service with some nice but ultimately limiting bandwidth limits. Therefore, image sizes had to be kept small. Now, thanks to shiny new hosting by BluHost.com, I don’t have to worry about those limits. So I have now installed a ZenPhoto image gallery to replace the art gallery and images gallery with one section. Most images have been moved there. If you have something you want to add to the gallery – please send them in. Also, ZenPhoto lets you comment on each image. Where I could remember, I tried to credit who sent in the image that I uploaded. Some of the submitted images I drew a blank on, so if I forgot to credit you – please let me know!

Knott & McDonough Cover The Beatles

The first new songs of 2009 from Knott & company have hit the nets on MySpace – covers of three Beatles songs. These songs were originally performed by Michael at Rick’s wedding in 2007. They decided to record them “with the goal of intertwining Michael’s musical style with Rick’s musical style, while still attempting to maintain the integrity of the original Beatles songs.”

Sincerely Paul Re-Issue Moves Forward

Sorry for the late post on this – just had to transfer hosting to new service. The re-issue of Grieve by Sincerely Paul is now moving forward again. Pre-production work has officially started. It will still be a 2-disc album, with 11 unreleased tracks on the second disc. CD art work and inserts will be given a complete makeover. In addition to all of this, the Sincerely Paul/Slide website will also get a make-over in some areas. Be on the lookout for Slide’s first interview since 1993 for Cut and Dry Radio soon (http://www.myspace.com/clkvideoproductions).

Out of Print Knott Albums

Some rare Michael Knott related tunes are now available in FLAC format (which can be converted to mp3 or regular CD format) for a limited time. All titles are just $10. Email Steve Ruff for more details at brokenagain143@yahoo.com. This is for titles that are currently out of stock at the official site. I’ve checked with Steve and the money for these albums does goes to Michael himself.

Updates on Upcoming Knott Project

There aren’t very many official updates to report yet, but a few unofficial tidbits. A member of the Knott FaceBook page (you should join it if you haven’t) asked Mike about the L.S.U. album and reported that he said it was being mixed. Also, inside sources report that the songs for the new Lifesavors album are picked and may start recording soon.

Second Issue of Down the Line

The second issue of Down the Line magazine has been released. This one features a great story on Brian Doidge, who speaks of his history with Michael Knott and the music business in general. It also has interviews with Greg Lawless, Roger Rose, and Terry Taylor on the Lost Dogs. All this, and it is free to download!

Nothing official to post yet. I’ve heard that some one that talked to Michael recently said that the new L.S.U, album is being mixed.
