Michael Knott is in Electric Jesus?

If you haven’t heard of the “80’s Hair Band Music Comedy” movie called Electric Jesus yet, well, check out the film’s official website. Turns out that, even though it is billed as a Christian Metal film, there is probably more Christian alternative references in the movie than metal. A Lifesavers song (“She’s on Fire”) is in the soundtrack, but that is not all. Knott himself makes a brief cameo in one scene when the drummer of the band is seen doodling on the Kiss of Life album cover itself. Oh, and the main character mentions how Lifesavers becomes L.S.U. early in the film, and then we later see the bass player wearing a Shaded Pain T-shirt. Of course, the film is set in 1986, and L.S.U. did not exist until 1987, so that seems to be a mistake on the film’s part. But that is part of the fun of these historical films and TV shows – see what anachronisms you can find.

Bradford J. Salamon Paints To Cruz’n Ride

The video below features Bradford J. Salamon working on a painting called “Harley Knucklehead.” The video is a film By Eric Minh Swenson and is set to “Cruz’n’ Ride” by Michael Knott. Fans of Idle Lovell will remember Bradford as the drummer and artist for the Surge et Illuminare album. Bradford had this to say on Facebook:

“just posted on YouTube my film with Michael Knott song Cruz ‘n’ Ride showing my new paintings. Mike is very old friend and I got his permission and payed him as well. I played drums in his first real band called “The One” when we were 14 years old. We surfed, got in fights, lived in Hollywood, traded girlfriends and had a blast!”

Adam Again Rehearsal Video Added

It’s been a little while, but Steve sent me a link to an Eden Z video of a rehearsal for the Adam Again tribute show at Cornerstone 2000. Mike Knott is in it at the end. I love behind the scenes stuff like this. The rehearsal is in a hotel before Cornerstone. It’s now embedded in the promo videos section – check it out.

Bomb Bay Babies video on YouTube

I forgot to post this when it was first sent to me. Shawn found a video on YouTube that is a collection of actual live clips and fliers set to “Energy.” This is the first BBB video I have ever seen. Thanks to “faburto1138” for creating this video – any chance anyone has the full concert videos that these were taken from? The clips are just plain cool. I will get the video embedded in the videos section when I get a chance, but click on the related link to see it. Thanks Shawn for the heads up!

Michael Knott Bible Study

You know you’ve wanted it – a Bible study based on Michael Knott’s lyrics. Well, that may not be what this is, but it is a film that is designed to double as a Bible study, and it uses many underground Christian alternative songs in the sound track. Michael Knott’s ‘Comatose Soul’ and L.S.U.’s ‘The Bomb’ are both featured in ‘The House of Spiritual’ by Chameleon Stripe Ministries. See the related link for the promo on YouTube (featuring Comatose Soul).

Michael Knott Jazz Quartet

Mike Knott fan Shawn alerted me to some cool YouTube videos of a Knott show in Florida a few months ago. Mike played with a Jazz band for some of the songs. I think that now means there are only 3 styles of music Mike has not played: death metal, rap, and Bollywood (but I’m still hoping for a Mike Knott duet with Ravi Shakar some day). If anyone can get me a copy of this show, I would love that! The show is now in the videos section.

(unfortunately these videos were removed from YouTube)

More YouTube Videos Added

Some of the songs from L.S.U.’s legendary 1993 Cornerstone show have been posted on YouTube. Also, a solo acoustic set from 2000 is on YouTube. Both of these have been added to the video page. Both sets of video were uploaded by Brad (a.k.a. thecannyshark).

In addition to all that, a “video” that has “Want Me” by Michael Moret playing in the background, with a scan of the cover for the “video,” has been added to the random videos. Thanks to Shawn for the heads up on the Moret “video.”
