More LSU Information and Suprise

Joshua Lory, bass player for L.S.U., had this to say about the new L.S.U. album, as well as another possible album in the works: “We almost finished vocals last week, Mike will have this thing done within the next couple of weeks. Should be out by October at the latest. The subject matter is very heavy to say the least. This album is about Veterans of war and the heavy burdens they face on a day to day basis. We as civilians really can’t grasp the things these men and women have seen, real life horror that can not be forgot. It is hoped that this record will bring a sense of hope, comfort, and redemption to these brave soldiers, let them know that God is with them, loving them unconditionally, and that they are forgiven for the things they feel guilty about, and that Christ does not judge them for the beyond brave things they have done for our country. Other songs are about the helplessness the vets family members are feeling for their loved ones. Knott has poured his heart and soul into this album, he did his homework on the subject at hand. On a lighter note, a new Lifesavers record is in the works. I’ve been demoing off songs and sending them to Michael. Heavy Beach Boys and Ramones influence on this one. Will be a total fun in the sun record and after doing this L.S.Underground album, it will be sort of a release. No solid info as to when it will come out. Peace and Blessings, Joshua”

Brief L.S.U. Recording Update

There hasn’t been much news yet, but we know new stuff is brewing. Michael has announced a new Struck Last May album, a new “limited edition” album, and a new L.S.U. album all this year. There was a brief update on the L.S.U. project from Josh, the bass player. Michael was supposed to do some vocals, guitars, and mixing in “2 weeks”, which would be about today. The new L.S.U. album should be done soon. I hope they decide to start a MySpace page for the new L.S.U.

L.S.U. Recording Information

I found, what looks to be, the MySpace page for the bass player for the upcoming L.S.U. album. Joshua Lory has photos posted of the recording sessions. It appears that Jim Chaffin (The Crucified, Once Dead, Fasedown, etc) is playing drums, Matt Biggers is playing guitar, and Joshua is producing in addition to playing bass. Joshua calls the new L.S.U. album an “instant classic” that “redefines rock.” Nice. Jim Chaffin playing drums would also line up with what Michael said about this being the heaviest L.S.U. album ever. Josh also is blogging some of the process – it’s an interesting profile to check out.

Mike Knott Interview and New LSU Album

HM magazine has an online exclusive interview up with Michael Knott. You have to pay to subscribe to the online edition to get to the content, but it is not too expensive. The big news: a new LSU album is coming, and it will be the heaviest one ever recorded. Also, Mike has started an art gallery with his sister called Art Loft gallery (artloft205.com). The bad news? No plans with the Aunt Bettys.
